 #TAKETHENEXTSTEP WITH US

QUB AFC Academy is a joint venture set up in 2007 between Queen’s Sport and Queen’s Football Club. Donations from a number of our former members have helped fund the Academy which has enabled us to greatly improve the standard of our first team.

Queen’s Soccer Club was formed in 1910. Queen’s played in the first Collingwood Cup competition in 1914. Our oldest team photograph is of the Queen’s First XI of 1927-28. We would be delighted to receive information about the early years of the club and copies of old pictures.

The Collingwood Cup is the premier competition in University Football in Ireland and Queen’s have won it on 19 occasions, second on the all time list of winners behind UCD.

Queen’s first team was one of the founder members of the Northern Amateur Football League in 1923 and was also a founder member of the Irish League “B” division in 1951. We remained in this League until 1996 when we were relegated to the N.I. Intermediate League. Seven years later the Club once again secured a place in the Irish League Division 2 for the 2003/04 season and in 2009 we were accepted into the IFA (now the NIFL) Championship Div2.

Today the Club runs 3 teams in total with the Firsts in the NIFL Premier Intermediate League, Seconds in the Northern Amateur Football League and the Colts in the Belfast and District League. Home games and training take place at the magnificent QUB Playing Fields, Upper Malone Road, Belfast.
